Recruiting train keeps rolling for University of Toledo football

3 recent pledges give Rockets best 2018 class in Mid-American Conference

The University of Toledo football team received a verbal commitment on Saturday from Nate Bauer, a three-star wide receiver from Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron.

Bauer, a 6-foot-1, 185 pounder, is ranked 92nd at his position by Scout.com. He is the third July commitment for the Rockets, with Samuel Baker and A.J. Hampton joining Bauer in the class of 2018.

Baker is a 6-foot-3, 285 pound offensive lineman from Saint Petersburg, Fla. He is a three-star recruit and is ranked 44th at his position according to Scout.com.

Hampton, also a three-start recruit, is a 5-foot-11, 160 pound cornerback from Tampa, Fla.

Toledo is on a roll on the recruiting trail with 16 commitments in the 2018 class. After pegging Toledo as signing the top 2017 class in the MAC, Scout’s composite rankings have UT as the best class in the conference so far in 2018 (65th nationally), just ahead of Western Michigan (66th nationally).
