COLUMBUS — Ohio State wide receiver Austin Mack was cleared to practice ahead of the Buckeyes’ upcoming game against Army West Point, Ohio State coach Urban Meyer said.
Mack made a leaping 31-yard catch in Ohio State’s most recent game against Oklahoma, Ohio State’s only completion of longer than 20 yards in its 31-16 loss.
During the completion of the catch, however, the back of Mack’s head hit the artificial surface at Ohio Stadium.
Meyer said earlier this week that the Buckeyes intended to be “very cautious” with Mack. Speaking on his weekly radio call-in show Thursday, Meyer said Mack was cleared before Thursday’s practice.
“He passed every test,” Meyer said of Mack, who underwent medical tests to evaluate for a concussion.
The true sophomore wide receiver has two catches for 37 yards in two games for Ohio State. Mack has played in every game since enrolling at Ohio State.
