University of Toledo junior defensive end Olasunkanmi Adeniyi will forgo his senior season and enter the 2018 NFL draft.
Adeniyi announced his decision Friday on Twitter.
“This has been a tough decision that my family and I have thought long and hard about and I feel like the time is right to take the next step in my journey,” Adeniyi said in his post.
Adeniyi was a second-team All-Mid-American Conference performer this season. He played in all 14 games this season for the MAC champion Rockets and recorded 66 total tackles, 20 tackles for loss, and 8.5 sacks.
The Houston native arrived at Toledo in 2014 and took a redshirt his first year. He played in seven games in 2015 and was a starter in 2016, making 49 tackles with four sacks.
“Four years ago when I arrived on campus, I made a list of goals I wanted to accomplish,” Adeniyi said on Twitter. “Through hard work and a great support system of coaches, teammates and friends, I was able to reach those goals and surpass them.”
