With the 2017-18 regular season winding down in college basketball, I wanted to share my picks (at this moment) for the men’s and women’s all-conference teams for the Mid-American Conference. Players are listed in no particular order.
Men
1) Tre’Shaun Fletcher, Toledo
2) Thomas Wilder, Western Michigan
3) James Thompson IV, Eastern Michigan
4) CJ Massinburg, Buffalo
5) Eugene German, Northern Illinois
Player of the Year: Tre’Shaun Fletcher, Toledo
Comments: Fletcher is top 5 in the MAC in scoring, rebounding, and assists for the top team in the MAC West. That gives him the nod for player of the year...Wilder is perhaps the best pro prospect in the league..Thompson IV is the leading rebounder and the toughest center in the conference... Massinburg is the leader of the MAC’s top team...German can flat out score with his quickness and finishing ability.
Women
1) Tinara Moore, Central Michigan
2) Presley Hudson, Central Michigan
3) Courtney Woods, Northern Illinois
4) Lauren Dickerson, Miami
5) Moriah Monaco, Ball State
Player of the Year: Tinara Moore, Central Michigan
Comments: Moore is having a dominant season with her scoring, rebounding, and blocked shots for the conference’s top team...Hudson is the outside threat for the Chippewas and is a pure shooter that fills it up consistently...Woods is the top scorer in the conference and has helped the Huskies finish the season strong...Dickerson is the standout for one of the surprise teams in the league this season in Miami...Monaco is a consistent scorer and rebounder for another really good team in Ball State.
