The University of Toledo football team received its first commitment for the 2019 recruiting class Monday, when Michael Bergen pledged to the Rockets.

Bergen, a 6-foot-5, 270 pound offensive tackle from Avon High School near Cleveland, chose Toledo over Purdue and Cincinnati as well as several Mid-American Conference schools.

According to 247Sports.com, Bergen is a 3-star recruit.

For two consecutive years, Toledo has brought in the top-rated recruiting class in the MAC and Bergen’s commitment gives the Rockets a good start for the 2019 class.
