Bowling Green's Kruse selected in NHL draft

BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green State University hockey player Brandon Kruse was selected by the Vegas Golden Knights in the fifth round of this year’s NHL draft.

Kruse, a sophomore forward for the Falcons, was named to the Western Collegiate Hockey Association’s all-rookie team last season after tying for third among all NCAA freshmen with 25 assists. Kruse finished second on BG’s squad with 33 points thanks to eight goals as well.

Kruse, a native of Saline, Mich., was one of 24 forwards invited by USA Hockey to the 2018 World Junior Summer Showcase to be held in Kamloops, B.C., from July 28 to Aug. 4.
