Woodville man indicted in crash

Driver injured 3 in work zone

BOWLING GREEN — A Woodville man who allegedly drove into a construction zone and struck three workers was among those indicted this week by a Wood County grand jury.

Cody Rickard, 26, was charged with two counts of vehicular assault and two counts of felonious assault after the Oct. 28 incident south of Bradner.

According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, Mr. Rickard was southbound on Bradner Road about 11:20 a.m. when he drove around barricades and into a construction zone, striking three CSX Transportation employees. Paul Castle, 34, of Paintsville, Ky., Luis Knott III, 58, of Banner, Ky., and Jim Conley, 58, of Findlay were injured.

Also indicted Wednesday were:

■ Donnie Hill, 51, of Summerfield, Fla., who was charged with felonious assault after a July 22 car crash on I-75 at Buck Road in Rossford that injured his wife. Rossford police said Mr. Hill deliberately struck a car in which his wife was a passenger.

■ Dwight Bower, 57, of Cygnet, who was charged with inducing panic for allegedly sending a letter to the North Baltimore Board of Education threatening to blow up a school last month.
