Domestic violence charge dropped to disorderly conduct

SANDUSKY — Frank Clark, a former defensive end on the Michigan football team, has reached a plea agreement stemming from a November incident at a resort in Perkins township.

The Sandusky Municipal Court clerk's office confirmed today that Clark reached a plea agreement following a pretrial hearing Thursday.

Clark originally faced a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence that was dropped down to disorderly conduct, with fines and court costs totaling $350.

Clark was also sentenced to three days in jail and given credit for time served, but must adhere to one year of good behavior. He was also ordered to complete counseling, which he was also credited for, and was charged a $50 fee for probation services.

Clark also faced a misdemeanor assault charge, which was dismissed at the request of the prosecutor without prejudice, a $70 court cost.

Clark originally faced misdemeanor charges of domestic violence and assault, following a Nov. 15 incident involving his girlfriend at Maui Sands, an indoor water park in Perkins Township.

Former Michigan coach Brady Hoke dismissed Clark from the UM football team two days after he was arrested. Clark participated in the NFL combine in February in Indianapolis, and said that he was "very confident" that the charges would be reduced or thrown out.
