Toledo man sentenced to 15 years to life for killing ex-wife

A Toledo man was sentenced today to 15 years to life in prison after he was found guilty of killing his ex-wife on Valentine's Day last year.

Ronald Boaston, 42, of the 1100 block of Amanda Circle, was convicted on two counts of murder in the Feb. 14, 2014, strangulation of Brandi Gonyer-Boaston, 28. He declined to comment during his hearing in Lucas County Common Pleas Court.

Judge Linda Jennings said during her sentencing of Mr. Boaston that he was controlling of Ms. Gonyer-Boaston.
