BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green State University’s board of trustees today unanimously approved a 2 percent raise and a $50,000 bonus for university President Mary Ellen Mazey.
Ms. Mazey, who joined the university in 2011, signed a contract extension in June, 2014. That extension included a 1 percent pay raise, putting her annual salary at $394,176.
The $50,000 is a credit made to Ms. Mazey’s deferred compensation account.
The resolution calling for the raise cited a 2 percent raise given to meritorious staff at BGSU for the current academic year, and said the board “wishes to recognize President Mazey’s fine performance as President during the 2014-2015 fiscal and academic year.”
The raise, which is effective Sept. 1, 2015, will push Ms. Mazey’s pay above $400,000, but it will remain below that of University of Toledo President Sharon Gaber, who was given a contract in June that set her pay at $450,000 a year.
