The University of Toledo has named its interim leader of the Division of Student Affairs to the post permanently.

Phillip Cockrell began serving as vice president for student affairs Jan. 1. He had served in the role on an interim basis since June 1.

Mr. Cockrell joined UT in April 2016 as associate vice president of student affairs and dean of students. He came to UT from Jackson State University in Mississippi, where he was associate vice provost for student affairs and dean of students. His career has included additional experience in student affairs roles at Mississippi University for Women, Ohio State University, and Florida International University.
