Toledo Classic LPGA tournament presented $200,000 in checks to six local children’s charities at its annual charity luncheon at Owens Corning’s World Headquarters on Monday.
Toledo Classic Inc. distributed proceeds that were the result of prior Jamie Farr Toledo Classic tournaments along with the management of the 2011 U. S. Senior Open Championship held at Inverness Club this past summer.
The six charities that received checks Monday were:
Adopt America Network ($45,000); Children’s Rights Council of NW Ohio ($45,000); Veggie U ($35,000); Autism Model School ($30,000); Toledo Area Ministries ($30,000); and Toledo Basketball Academy ($15,000).
The Kroger Co. donated $75,000 for two additional local children’s charities - Ronald McDonald House Charities of NW Ohio ($50,000) and the Jamie Farr Toledo Classic Scholarship Fund of the Toledo Community Foundation ($25,000).
Since 1984, Toledo Classic Inc. has contributed $7.4 million to more than 100 northwest Ohio children’s charities.
