Dora the Explorer's most recent voyage will take her from your TV set to Toledo as the popular Nickelodeon show hits the stage Tuesday and Wednesday at the Stranahan Theater.
The brand new Dora the Explorer Live! - Dora's Pirate Adventure! takes the cast members of the show, which is broadcast at 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. weekdays during the Nick Jr. programming block for preschoolers, on a journey to Treasure Island. In the process, they involve the audience, promoting map-reading skills, teamwork, and puzzle solving.
The audience will help Dora and her cousin, Diego, her best friend Boots the Monkey, and others navigate over Music Mountain and through silly Singing Bridge, and fend off the Pirate piggies.
One of the things that makes Dora unique is the fact that she also speaks Spanish, helping youngsters learn another language. The character is a 7-year-old Latin girl who explores an imaginative tropical world.
The show is aimed at children between ages 2 and 5.
