Swiss-style singers to convene in Toledo

In less than 100 days, Toledo’s Swiss Singers, one of the area’s oldest vocal ensembles, will welcome hundreds of vocalists from across the country to downtown Toledo for Saengerfest 2018. The event is an international Swiss singing and yodeling festival, held triennially to celebrate the unique vocal tradition.

The singers are a part of the North American Swiss Singing Alliance, made up of 14 choirs from Canada and the United States. The weekend event will begin June 28 and run through July 1, and will culminate in a grand concert June 30 on the stage of the Valentine Theatre.

In addition, each of the ensembles will compete in a Prize Song Competition.
