LOS ANGELES — The FBI says a $100,000 reward helped lead to the capture of a fugitive on its Ten Most Wanted list.
Jose “Joe” Luis Saenz was arrested in Guadalajara, Mexico, on Thursday and is now jailed in California.
FBI officials in Los Angeles said Monday that Saenz was believed to be working as an enforcer for a drug cartel and was living in an apartment over a beauty shop.
The FBI says Saenz tried to hide by using two dozen aliases, gaining weight, removing tattoos and trying to alter his fingerprints.
He's charged with killing two men in Los Angeles 14 years ago; kidnapping, raping and killing the mother of his daughter for threatening to turn him in, and killing a Whittier man in 2008 over a drug debt.
