DETROIT — Detroit police say a 44-year-old man was killed and five other people were wounded when shooting broke out at a party at a social hall on the city’s east side.
The shooting happened about 4 a.m. Sunday at the Chalmers Community Hall.
WXYZ-TV says the Knights of the Round Table Van and Truck Club rented the hall for a celebration.

Police spokesman Officer Aram Madeira tells The Detroit News that one of the wounded people was a security guard who was shot as she worked at a neighboring church parking lot.
Madeira says police have three men in custody and says police are trying to learn the circumstances of the shooting.
