It started with a few picnic tables Tim Woodward built and sold on the internet. From there, it morphed into a brilliant idea.
“That started the bug that I can build stuff and make money at it,” Mr. Woodward said. “I wanted to do woodworking as a hobby, and I wanted to buy tools, but we didn’t have the budget for it as a family. I thought if I could build stuff and have other people pay for it and make a little bit of money to buy tools, then that’d be great.”

A year after starting Woodward Builds out of his garage in Swanton, Mr. Woodward has a customer waiting list, pieces in public places across the area, and more than 20,000 followers on Instagram.
