The Bedford PTA Council will host a meet-and-greet session for the board of education candidates on the Nov. 4 ballot from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Bedford Branch Library.
The candidates are incumbents Lisa Beins-McCaig, Tim Brakel, and Joe Gore, and challenger Todd Bruning. They will meet the public in the library’s community room.
The library is at 8575 Jackman Rd.
In other district business, the school board has slated three focus group sessions on the process of producing a strategic plan.
The first is Oct. 20 in the junior high school media center, and the second is Oct. 28 in the high school media center. Both are from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The third session will be Nov. 5, with a time and location to be determined.
District officials say public input is key and encourage attendance. The strategic plan is to lay out three to five high-priority goals for the next five years.
