OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — The Owens Community College women’s basketball team took fifth place in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II national tournament with a 90-85 win against Cape Fear (N.C.) on Saturday.

Tatyana Reynolds led the Express (29-7) with 21 points, Aysah Ingram scored 19, Ariel Bethea had 18 points, and Jeryn Reese scored 17.

Owens trailed 45-39 at halftime, but responded with a 27-23 edge in the third quarter and outscored Cape Fear 24-17 in the fourth.

The Express made seven of their 11 3-point attempts, including five by Reynolds. Owens shot 48 percent from the field and hit 19 of 24 free-throw attempts.

Jasmine Brown had 22 points to lead Cape Fear (27-3).
