LIMA, Ohio — A 4-year-old Lima, Ohio, girl is dead after police allege she was stabbed by her half-sister early Tuesday morning.
Linda Jackson was killed inside 1913 Burch Ave., Lima, by 19- year-old Kenyada Jackson, police said. Kenyada Jackson also stabbed her stepmother — Linda’s mother — Latamangela “Tammy” Jackson, 44, according to Lima police Lt. Jim Baker.
Mrs. Jackson and Kenyada Jackson are being treated at St. Rita’s Hospital in Lima. The younger woman appears to have self-inflicted wounds bot neither woman’s injuries appear life threatening, the lieutenant said.
Mrs. Jackson was able to leave the house after being stabbed and yelled for help. Neighbors called police around 1:40 a.m., the lieutenant said. No one else was home at the time of the incident.
Police are still investigating what happened inside the home. Kenyada Jackson has not been charged.
The lieutenant said Kenyada Jackson’s criminal record contained only minor incidents and were handled while she was a juvenile.
“We’re just trying to figure out why,” he said. “It’s a very sad story.”
