2-year-old found in pool in Oregon identified

The 22-month-old boy who died today after being found in a private pool in Oregon has been identified as Frasier Burt, police said.

The toddler was pronounced dead about 5 p.m. in Mercy St. Charles Hospital, Oregon, authorities said.

The boy lived in Point Place with his parents, Jason Burt, and Gail Sanderson, However, he was at the Beachwood Drive home of his grandfather, Jim Sanderson, who discovered him missing about 3:30 p.m.

Mr. Sanderson called 911 after searching the residence and outside. A door-to-door search of the neighborhood was immediately begun, with authorities and others pulling off the solar cover on the backyard, in-ground pool of a next-door neighbor.

The Lucas County coroner’s office said he was found in about 8 feet of water.
