Melee in stands leads to halting of play during basketball game at Scott High School

A City League basketball game was halted tonight with less than two minutes to play after a fight broke out at Scott High School gym.

The game between Rogers and Scott was stopped with 1:39 to play Friday, after a fight started between two females in the stands on the Scott side of the gym.

Police officers rushed into the crowd to break up the fight, and one officer proceeded to pepper spray the area, which led to the fans scattering toward the exits.

Additional fights erupted outside, and at least two girls were arrested, according to witnesses at the scene.

Rogers was leading 59-45 when the game was halted.
