Explosion damages Seneca County house

BETTSVILLE, Ohio -- An explosion destroyed a vacant house in this Seneca County community today, authorities said.

There were no injuries, according to the Seneca County Sheriff's Office.

The explosion occurred about 8:20 a.m. at a house near Monroe and Union streets, causing a fire, sheriff's dispatcher said. As of about 3 p.m., fire crews had brought the fire under control but remained at the scene, the dispatcher said.

The damage estimate was unavailable. 

The cause of the incident is under investigation.

Bettsville is about 40 miles southeast of Toledo.
