Blaze destroys pallet yard at North Baltimore recycling plant

NORTH BALTIMORE, Ohio -- Area fire crews battled a blaze at a plastics recycling plant in this Wood County community late Thursday night, authorities said.

There were no injuries, North Baltimore Police Chief Allan Baer said.

Chief Baer said no one was at the plant about 11 p.m. when neighbors called to report the fire. Fire crews arrived at the HPJ Industries plant in the 500 block of West Broadway Street, found the pallet yard ablaze and attacked the flames. Firefighters extinguished the fire by about 3 a.m., at which time the crews left the scene, Chief Baer said.
