A shooting in Lenawee County Tuesday night has left one person dead.

Sheriff Jack Welsh confirmed that one of his officers was involved in an incident about 8:15 p.m. Tuesday and the officer shot a person on Treat Highway between Yankee and Mulberry roads.

Sheriff Welsh said the shooting is being investigated by the Michigan State Police.

He would not release any other information about the person who was shot and killed.
