Crews extinguish warehouse blaze in Wauseon

WAUSEON — Area fire crews fought a blaze early today at a warehouse in Wauseon, authorities said.

There were no injuries, authorities said.

The fire at Certified Documents Destruction, 300 West Chestnut St., happened about 2:10 a.m., a Wauseon police dispatcher said. Wauseon Assistant Police Chief Bill McConnell, who was at the scene, said the fire was extinguished about 8:30 a.m., by which time the grinder and paper storage was a total loss.

The blaze was only about 100 yards away from CSX tracks so Wauseon police department advised CSX authorities about 2:30 a.m. to limit train traffic on the tracks.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. The damage estimate was not available.

Wauseon, in Fulton County, is about 30 miles southwest of Toledo.
