A Toledo man was charged today with the murder of his brother in West Toledo.
John Conklin, 53, was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound just after midnight in a house on the 3800 block of Rose Glenn Drive.
Mr. Conklin’s older brother, James Conklin, 58, was arrested and charged with murder. He is being held in the Lucas County jail pending arraignment Monday in Toledo Municipal Court. The home is owned by Patricia Conklin, according to Lucas County records.
The older Mr. Conklin called 911 at 12:10 a.m. and told the operator that his younger brother “came at him and he shot him,” according to court records.
The younger Mr. Conklin was found by authorities on the floor of the home on Rose Glenn with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at 12:22 a.m..
Police recovered a weapon at the scene, court records said.
