A Toledo couple was killed today after their car struck a tractor-trailer rig head-on.

Robert Wooten, 73, and his passenger, Carol Wooten, 72, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on Williston Road near Woodville Road, according to the Bowling Green post of the Ohio Highway Patrol.

Mr. Wooten's vehicle was westbound on Williston Road at 9:01 a.m. when it traveled left of center. It collided with an eastbound tractor-trailer, troopers said.

The driver of the truck, Philip Huffman, 70, of Addison, Mich. was not injured.

Alcohol and drug use were not considered factors in the crash. The road was closed for about four hours.
