Bond was set at $200,000 today for a North Toledo man who police said burned his son on the eyelid with a lit cigarette.

Jaysen Thomas Sr., 26, of the 3100 block of Warsaw Street was arraigned in Toledo Municipal Court. Police said on Monday he caused serious harm to his 2-year-old son, Jaysen Jr., at his residence, police said.

A witness said he stopped others from seeking medical attention as well, according to police.

The boy suffered first-and-second degree burns and is expected to recover.

Mr. Thomas has been charged with endangering children and felonious assault. He's scheduled for a preliminary hearing next Wednesday in Toledo Municipal Court.
