A fire of a yet unknown origin destroyed a single-family house and damaged another in North Toledo early Friday.

No one was reported hurt, fire officials said.

Crews arrived about 4:20 a.m. and saw flames coming from the house at 24 East Park St. Firefighters brought the flames under control in an hour, but not before the house was a total loss and a neighboring house at 22 East Park was damaged, Toledo fire Lt. Matthew Hertzfeld said.

Lucas County records list Kenneth Powell as the owner of the single-story, wood frame house at 24 East Park. The owner of the other house is listed as Duane Niese.

A damage estimate was unavailable. The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
