Sylvania Township police report that officers responded at 2:20 a.m. to a call at 5834 Friedly Dr., where a suspect hit a township officer with a vehicle, ”resulting in an officer involved fatal shooting.”

A total of three injured people were taken to hospitals, police said, though they would not name the people nor describe their injuries.

Jeff Cook, spokesman with the Ohio Attorney General’s office, confirmed that one person is dead and a law-enforcement officer was involved, but would not release any further details.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations, which is part of the attorney general’s office, is investigating the shooting, Sylvania Police said.
