A man accused of fatally shooting his girlfriend today at their East Toledo home turned himself in, according to Toledo police.

Officers responded about 8:30 a.m. to a home in the 600 block of Church Street, near Woodville Road. They found Denise Glover, 29, with a gunshot wound to her torso, according to a media release. She was later pronounced dead at Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center.

The suspected gunman Maurice Kenney, 46, turned himself in at the Safety Building, police said. He is charged of murder.

A neighbor said he heard the two arguing prior to gunshots.

Ms. Glover is the 19th homicide victim this year in the city, and 22nd in the metro area.
