One man was fatally shot today after an argument in South Toledo, police said.
Toledo police responded shortly after midnight to a person shot in the 1100 block of Pinebrook Parkway in South Toledo. Before officers arrived, a witness drove Willie Riley, 32, to the hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound.
Riley was in a dispute with an acquaintance, Dai-Shawn Henson, who then fired his weapon, department spokesman Lt. Joe Heffernan said.
Mr. Henson, 23, of the 1100 block of Pinebrook Parkway remained on scene and called 911 to report the argument. He is charged with murder, Lieutenant Heffernan said.
Officials pronounced Riley dead at the University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio Hospital.
An autopsy determined Mr. Riley was shot once in the back, and the bullet exited through his abdomen. The death was ruled a homicide, according to the Lucas County Coroner's Office.
