VANLUE, Ohio — Several fire departments late Friday battled a blaze at BR Pallet Inc. on Hancock County Road 7 in Biglick Township, authorities said.

The Vanlue Fire Department took the lead in the effort, authorities said.

Multiple photos posted to social media show thick black smoke visible from miles away and, at ground level, heavy fire. 

The fire’s cause was not immediately clear.

According to a Better Business Bureau web profile of the business, BR Pallet specializes in remanufacturing wooden pallets and produces recycled wood-colored landscaping mulch.

The business, which is west of Alvada, Ohio, is more than 45 miles south of Toledo.
