A man was shot and killed in West Toledo early Saturday morning.

The victim, Jerry McNeal, 31, was transported by a friend to an undisclosed hospital, where he died. 

According to Toledo police, officers were dispatched to reports of a shooting in the 1800 block of Bigelow St. at 12:01 a.m. When the officers arrived, “the victim was no longer on the scene.”

No arrests had been reported, nor any suspects named, by late Saturday. Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to call the Crime Stopper program at 419-255-1111.

The homicide is the 37th so far in 2017 in the Toledo metro area, with 36 of them having been reported in Toledo itself.
