STRYKER, Ohio — A Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio worker was named employee of the year for helping a choking inmate.
Officials this week honored Corrections Officer Jesse Gibson. On Feb. 18, 2017, the officer was walking through the jail when an inmate motioned as if he were choking. Officer Gibson called for medical assistance and successfully performed the Heimlich maneuver.
