Amber Alert canceled for Sandusky boy; mother in custody

SANDUSKY — An Amber Alert issued for a 4-year-old boy in Sandusky has been canceled after authorities found the child safe and arrested his non-custodial mother Friday evening.

According to police, at 4:53 p.m., D’Quai Hemchak was forcibly removed from a vehicle on Prospect Street by his non-custodial mother, Jennifer Ann Hemchak. Hemchak left with the child in a 2015 white Hyundai Sonata with Florida registration: IWU M23 and fled the area.

The alert was cancelled at 8:26 p.m.
