Mr. Adams was transported to ProMedica Toledo Hospital, police said.
A man at the scene identified himself as Mr. Adams’ cousin and said he saw the victim jogging down near North Hawley Street to exercise shortly before the shooting happened.
According to police, Mr. Adams was uncooperative with investigating officers and with medical staff. Mr. Adams walked out of the hospital against medical advice prior to speaking with detectives, police said.
Shania Crossland, who lives a few doors down from where the shooting happened, said she was inside her home when she heard about six gunshots. She’s lived at her home for three years and said she hasn’t seen such violence before.
The incident concerns her because she has two young children.
“What if they were playing outside?” asked Ms. Crossland, 23.
No arrests have been made in connection to the shooting. Anyone with information should contact the Crime Stopper program at 419-255-1111.
