Hip hop mogul Russell Simmons will appear Saturday at Scott High School with U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D., Cleveland), who squares off Tuesday in a primary against U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D., Toledo), and Cleveland entrepreneur Graham Veysey for the 9th Congressional District Democratic nomination.

Mr. Simmons, who was the cofounder of seminal hip hop record label Def Jam, will appear at a noon event in the high school’s field house.

“We can’t afford to lose Dennis, because he is the voice of Main Street Americans and progressive politics,” Mr. Simmons said in a statement.

Doors to the field house open at 11:15 a.m. The event is open to the public.
