Candidate online on trip to Toledo

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump spent part of his flight into Toledo and drive downtown answering questions from fans online.

Just before entering the Huntington Center for a big rally, Mr. Trump engaged in a question-and-answer session on the website Reddit.

The website, which operates much like a message board, allows registered users to submit content into subject-based subreddits. Users then can “upvote” or “downvote” posts, with posts that have the most upvotes moved to the top of the comment thread.

The session was delayed about 20 minutes, as Mr. Trump was late leaving Scranton, Pa., and ended after about an hour. However, the Trump campaign continued to answer questions after the candidate announced on Facebook he was leaving to attend the Toledo rally.

In his first answer, Mr. Trump responded to a Redditor who wrote of fears that Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton will try to steal the election.

“Voter fraud is always a serious concern and authorities must be vigilant from keeping those from voting that are not authorized to do so,” Mr. Trump wrote.

Most of the responses were boilerplate Trumpisms, criticizing biased media, calling his competitor crooked, and saying he supported police. He listed his favorite presidents as George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Dwight Eisenhower, and Ronald Reagan, and said he would repeal the Affordable Care Act if elected and replace it with “an amazing new plan.”

“I am never tired of winning, and as your president I will win for you, the American people. I’m with you!” Mr. Trump responded to someone who asked if he was tired of winning.

Mr. Trump, who says he’s a billionaire, said that he would reform the government “so it no longer benefits the powerful at the expense of everyone else.”

“We have to change a foreign policy that has led us to one economic disaster after another, and an economic policy that has failed our poorest citizens,” he said. “We will never fix a rigged system by relying on the people who rigged it in the first place.”
