The Toledo Mud Hens had four players named to the International League all-star team, it was announced Wednesday by the league office. It ties the franchise record for most players sent to the Triple-A all-star game.
Toledo had three players — outfielder Christin Stewart, shortstop Ronny Rodriguez, and designated hitter Chad Huffman — voted to the starting lineup by fans, media, and IL managers and general managers, while outfielder Jim Adduci also was picked to the team.
Pawtucket was the only team besides the Hens to have three players elected to the starting lineup, and no other IL team had four players named to the team.
The Triple-A All-Star Game will be played at approximately 7 p.m. July 11 at Huntington Park in Columbus.

Stewart, who was placed on the disabled list before Wednesday’s game against Indianapolis, leads the IL with 15 home runs and is tied for second with 45 RBIs. On the season, he has batted .269, ranks fifth in extra-base hits (31) and has a league-best 135 total bases.
Rodriguez currently ranks third in the IL with a .322 batting average and has nine homers and 37 RBIs despite spending time in the majors with Detroit. Rodriguez also is tied with teammate Mikie Mahtook for second in the league with four triples.
Huffman has batted .278 with seven home runs and 24 RBIs this season. Huffman, who also was selected to play in the 2016 Triple-A All-Star Game while with Toledo, has a .388 on-base percentage to rank third in the IL in that category.
Adduci has hit .306 with seven homers and 45 RBIs and is tied for second in the IL in the latter category. Adduci also ranks third in the league in doubles with 21 and stands fourth in hits with 78.
While this will be the third Triple-A all-star appearance for Huffman, who also played in the 2009 game with Portland in the Pacific Coast League, this is the first time Adduci, Rodriguez, and Stewart will play in the contest.
The only time before this season that four Mud Hens were selected to play in this contest came in 2006, when Toledo hosted the event at Fifth Third Field. In that game the Hens were represented by pitchers Chad Durbin and Lee Gardner along with outfielders Ryan Ludwick and Ryan Raburn.
