The iconic Etch A Sketch children’s toy made by Ohio Art Co. of Bryan, Ohio has been sold to a Canadian toymaker.
The Williams County company which has made the drawing toy for 55 years said today that it sold the brand and its spinoff toy Doodle Sketch to Spin Master Corp. of Toronto for an undisclosed price.
Ohio Art said it would continue to operate its metal lithography business in Bryan.

Production of the well-known Etch A Sketch toy, featured in Disney’s Toy Story films, was moved out of Bryan to China in 2000.
The toy, invented by a German electrician and bought by Ohio Art in 1960, was inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame in 1998.
