Outgoing Ohio Senate leader gets Statehouse portrait

COLUMBUS — Former Senate President Keith Faber has been captured on canvas.

The 51-year-old Republican from Celina on Wednesday became the latest state legislative leader to be memorialized in a Statehouse portrait.

The oil painting was unveiled at a crowded Statehouse luncheon featuring remarks by House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger, Faber’s successor as Senate president, Larry Obhof, and other dignitaries.

Artist Leslie Adams helped Faber and his wife and children remove the black drape to reveal the piece. The artwork will be permanently displayed in the Ohio Senate Office Building.

Faber served in the Senate from 2007 to 2016, the last four years as president. He left due to term limits. Faber has been returned by voters to a seat in the Ohio House.
