WNWO-TV, Channel 24, announced recent changes to its on-air personnel beginning with the departures of news anchor Michael Henrich and sports director Eric Haubert.
Henrich joined the NBC affiliate a year ago and co-anchored the station's 4:30-7 a.m. newscasts with China Sellers. Haubert was with WNWO for nine years, beginning as a sports anchor before assuming the sports director position with the retirement of longtime sports director Jim Tichy nearly five years ago.
WNWO announced Will Kunkel as Haubert's replacement.
Kunkel worked as sports anchor at KVRR in Fargo, N.D., and previously at ESPN.
"Will exudes tremendous leadership qualities. His commitment to local coverage on-air and online will raise our game," said Amulya Raghuveer, WNWO's news director.
As part of the Barrington Broadcasting station's revamping, Barrington's regional news director Kathy Reynolds, based out of NBC affiliate WEYI-TV in Flint, Mich., will oversee the newsroom changes for WNWO, splitting her time between the two stations beginning in early June.
