Chester Taylor, the University of Toledo's career rushing leader who is now with the NFL's Minnesota Vikings, is one of 10 former Rockets who will make up the 2007 induction class in the Varsity T Hall of Fame.
The induction banquet will be held Jan. 26 at The Pinnacle in Maumee. Inductees will be introduced the following day during halftime of both the men's and women's basketball games.
Taylor was a three-time selection to the All-Mid-American Conference team who rushed for 4,849 yards and scored 61 touchdowns for the Rockets from 1998-2001. Originally drafted by Baltimore, he is in his fifth season in the NFL.
Another ex-football player, tight end Don Seymour (1971-74), who set four school records during his career, two of which still stand, will also be inducted next month.
The remainder of the class includes Kahli Carter-Wilson, women's basketball, 1997-2001; Ron Junko, wrestling, 1968-71; Mike Karabin, baseball (1977-78), baseball coach and current administrator; Tim McCann, swimming, 1996-99; Neal Mersch, baseball, 1972-73; Dave Speicher, basketball, 1974-77; Brenda Steinbruner-Vonderwell, softball, 1986-89, and Doward Williamson, track and cross country, 1978-81.

CHURCH HONORED: Toledo freshman safety Barry Church was named to a second Freshman All-American team, this time by the Sporting News. He was named to the second team defensive unit.
Bowling Green running back Chris Bullock was named to third team on offense.
