The University of Toledo football team defeated Maine 45-3 tonight at the Glass Bowl.
UT junior quarterback Logan Woodside had his deep ball working, throwing four touchdowns in the game with three of the four coming on throws of 85, 64, and 89 yards.He also added a 22-yard TD pass.
Woodside hit four different receivers on his touchdown passes, finding Corey Jones for 85 yards, Cody Thompson for 64 yards, Jon'Vea Johnson for 89 yards, and Michael Roberts for 22 yards.
Senior Kareem Hunt led the UT rushing attack with 15 carries for 66 yards, while Jones finished with three catches for 100 yards and a touchdown.
In the fourth quarter, Art Thompkins scored for UT on a two-yard run for the only points of the quarter for either team.
THIRD QUARTER
The University of Toledo football team holds a 38-3 lead over Maine after three quarters at the Glass Bowl.
In the third quarter, Logan Woodside found Michael Roberts on a 21-yard touchdown pass to give the Rockets a 24-3 lead. The pass capped off a 13-play, 84-yard drive.
Woodside threw his first interception of the season in the third quarter, but Toledo’s defense held Maine scoreless in the quarter.
After a three-and-out by Maine, Cody Thompson blocked the punt and Ronnie Jones returned it for a touchdown. It was Toledo’s first punt-block return for a touchdown since 2001 against Western Michigan. That made the score 31-3 UT with 4:21 left in the third quarter.
Woodside then hit Jon’Vea Johnson down the sideline on an 89-yard TD pass to make the score 38-3 with 2:24 left in the third quarter.
HALFTIME

In the second quarter, Jameson Vest kicked a 31-yard field goal after the Rockets converted a 4th-and-3 earlier on the drive. That made the score 10-3 Toledo with 5:33 left in the half.
Logan Woodside then found Cody Thompson on a 64-yard touchdown pass with 3:29 left in the half to give the Rockets a 17-3 lead.
Woodside finished 9-of-14 passing in the first half with 193 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions. Kareem Hunt led the Rockets’ rushing attack with 10 carries for 41 yards.
FIRST QUARTER

Junior quarterback Logan Woodside hit senior Corey Jones on a 85-yard touchdown pass to give the Rockets a 7-3 lead.
Woodside is 5-of-7 passing for 105 yards, while Jones has two catches for 95 yards.
Maine opened the scoring after finishing a long opening drive with a 29-yard field goal by Patrick Leonard.
