With three early season home wins, the University of Toledo men’s basketball team has cracked the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25. After wins over St. Joseph’s, Ohio Northern, and Oakland the Rockets check in at No. 24 in the poll.
Despite its loss to Toledo, Oakland is still ranked No. 7. Joining Toledo from the Mid-American Conference in the mid-major poll are Eastern Michigan (No. 22) and Buffalo (No. 23). The Eagles are 4-0, while the Bulls are 3-0.
The Rockets will be tested on a three-game road swing at Syracuse, Cornell, and Kansas beginning this Wednesday.
In the women’s Mid-Major Top 25, which was last updated Nov. 14, Toledo checks in at No. 22, but has since lost to Louisville and won over Louisiana-Lafayette and sits at 2-1 in the young season.
Also appearing in last week’s mid-major poll are MAC teams Central Michigan (No. 11) and Buffalo (No. 12). Green Bay is No.1, while Gonzaga is ranked No. 2.
Toledo hosts Dayton on Wednesday night at Savage Arena.
