• Favorite way to spend time away from the rink: I m a big fan of water sports during the summer. We have a cottage on the lake in Kingston, so I like to water ski and wakeboard. I m a big fisherman. Bass and pike are what I catch.
• Hockey player(s) you admired growing up: Darcy Tucker, Wendel Clark. I like their style. I like how they play. They re all-around players. They ll score, hit, fight. They ll do anything to win. I like to model myself after them.
• Favorite sport other than hockey: A little bit of basketball. I m not a fan at all [of college football].
• Favorite type of music: Anything that is good. From alternative to rock to R&B and country. [In the locker room], we ll put on something that fits the type of mood we re in. Scooter [Smith] is the big music man. We let him do what he wants. I sit by the speakers so it s a little loud. But I don t care as long as it is good music.
• Favorite food: I like pasta. I grew up on chicken parm. Now I make most of my own meals. I ll fire up some chicken and rice and pasta. I like steak. I ve become quite the chef.
• Favorite Movie: I like a bunch of them. The Thomas Crown Affair. Primal Fear. Man on Fire. I own a bunch of DVDs. I m a big movie buff. I only have 20 here, but I own a lot more than that.
• Favorite TV Show: Viva La Bam. It s on MTV. I like those kinds of shows. Punk d and Jackass.
• Do you have any superstitions? The color green is good luck to me. I put green on my stick and stuff. I like to wear the color green on game day. It depends on how much I need the luck. One of my old friends had that as a superstition. I tried it out and it s something that stuck with me. It s gotten out of hand a bit.
• What it is like to be an enforcer: I did quite a bit of fighting in juniors. I got into about 20 fights a year. I ve always been among the top leaders in penalty minutes. It s something that comes along with my style of play. With how hard I play, I m gonna get into fights. I ll finish checks every time out there. Overall, I run around a lot. I try to make sure the other team notices me. I try to intimidate them. If things are not going our way, it might be my time to go out and start a fight. We feed off the energy of the crowd. But it s important to be able to have both aspects of the game. I like to score as well as fight.
• Do you have a hobby?: I just got the PSP. The new portable Playstation. It s great for the road.
• Person you most admire: My brother Sheldon. He s been to where I want to be. He played three seasons in the NHL for the Tampa Bay Lightning [2000-03].
• If you could meet an athlete, dead or alive, who would it be? Lemieux, Jordan, Gretzky. Those guys were at the top of their games. I d like to meet all the greats.
• Something nobody knows about you: I don t want to give anything away. Everything anybody needs to know, they already know.
