Goaltender Thomas McCollum, who started the season in Toledo, was reassigned Wednesday from Grand Rapids to the Walleye.
Before he was called up Nov. 7 to the American Hockey League, McCollum ranked 15th in the ECHL with a 2.57 goals-against average and had appeared in five games.
McCollum, 22, had posted a 4-3 record in seven games with Grand Rapids, along with a 3.17 GAA. He helped lead the Griffins to their first three-game winning streak of the season.
McCollum, the Detroit Red Wings' No. 1 draft choice in 2008, split time last season between Grand Rapids and Toledo. He appeared in 20 games with the Griffins and 23 with the Walleye.
He posted a 6-12-2 record with a 3.33 GAA while in Grand Rapids. With Toledo he had an 11-9-2 record and a 2.76 GAA and three shutouts.
McCollum became the first Walleye player to appear in an NHL game when he played for the Red Wings in March.
Toledo hosts Cincinnati at 7 p.m. Friday at the Huntington Center.
