Tuesday at 12 p.m. is the deadline to submit entries for the next Toledo SOUP event, being held from 4 to 6 p.m. on May 19 at LaunchPad Incubation, 1510 N. Westwood Ave. If you’ve got a great idea that needs funding or your organization could use some financial support, make sure you don’t miss it.
SOUP is an opportunity for community groups to receive a microgrant, which is funded by those who attend the event.
Only $5 paid at the door lets you enjoy a dinner of soup, salad, and bread prepared by local cooks and bakers. There will be four selected presentations of four minutes each, and each presenter will answer four questions; then attendees get to vote for their favorite. The winner takes it all and gets to use the proceeds to fund their important project. There will also be a bake sale to satisfy attendees’ sweet teeth and a raffle of items donated by area businesses; if you would like to contribute treats or other items, email hello@ToledoSOUP.com.
